Purpose of the Site

The purpose of this site is to offer you information about The Global Village, and about the products and stores we have, the services we run in the shops and the environmental and social justice causes we support. Additionally, you may be able to purchase products through the site.

Product and Service Availability

When reference is made to a product or service on the site, such a reference is not necessarily an attempt to sell or supply that product or service, nor is it an assurance that the product or service is available or that the names and descriptions of products found in our stores will exactly match those included on the site. The Global Village online controls and administers the site from our office in Adelaide, Australia. We will not be able to fill your order if you require shipping outside of Australia.

Inventory information available on the site offers only an estimate of the likelihood that a product will be shipped immediately once you have placed your order. Despite our endeavours, we cannot offer guarantee that a product listed as "in stock" will in fact ship immediately, since inventory can change considerably on a day-to-day basis. If an item that is marked "in stock" in your shopping cart when you place your order, is in fact sold out at the time your order is processed, we will send your notification e-mail indicating that we were unable to fill the order and your credit card will not be charged. You will be offered to register to receive an e-mail when the product becomes available.

Colours

The photographers endeavour to ensure the display colours of our products are depicted accurately, however the actual colours you will see will depend on your monitor. We cannot guarantee your monitor will display a colour accurately as it was intended to be displayed.

Backorders (out of stock)

Backordered merchandise includes item(s) that are currently out of stock. Generally, backorder items are on order from our craftspeople or suppliers. The Global Village will endeavour to get the items back in our stock promptly. If we are unable to source and ship the items to you within 30 days, we will notify you of the order status via e-mail. In the case that we determine that a backordered item becomes unavailable, we will cancel the item from your order and issue you with a notification via e-mail. Because we do not charge your credit card until we ship the items to you, your credit card will require no adjustment upon cancelling an order.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers purchased in store are redeemable in store whereas gift vouchers purchased online are redeemable for online purchases.

Product Orders

The price and availability of products and services displayed on the site are subject to change without notice. The presence, details of or reference to, any of the products or services on our site does not necessarily mean that product or service is presently available, nor that we approve the product or service. In the case a product or service is indicated at an incorrect price as result of typographical error, error in pricing information received from the supplier, or any reason, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for such a product or service with an incorrect price. We reserve this right including when the order has been confirmed or your credit card has been charged. If the order is cancelled but your credit card has already been charged for the purchase, we will issue a credit to your credit card account to the value of the incorrect price.

Order Acceptance

We reserve the right to accept or decline your order at any time, or to supply less quantity than you ordered of any product.

Payment

You hold responsibility for the delivery of payments relating to any products that you order through your account.

Sales Tax

By law, we are committed to charge applicable goods and services tax on all products shipped. At present, we sell in Australia only.

Registration and Security

Before purchasing any products on the site, it is necessary for you to open an account with us and to provide us with the required information. If you enter any information on the site, you also warrant the following conditions: firstly, you are at least 18 years of age; secondly, the identity you provide is your actual identity; thirdly, the information you provide is true, accurate, current and complete in nature; fourthly, you agree it is your responsibility to maintain and update information that you provide so that it remains true, accurate, current and complete; fifthly, you agree to keep your account and any passwords strictly confidential, and to agree not to allow another individual to use your username or password. The Global Village disclaims all warranties concerning fitness for a particular purpose with respect to products purchased through the site. We further disclaim liability for product defect or failure, any claims resulting from normal wear, misuse, abuse, modification of products, incorrect product selection, or misapplication.

Limitation of Liability

The only remedy in terms of claims for damages related to any products purchased through the site will be no more than replacement of the products, or exchange for a product to the value thereof or a credit note.
